Dogshave always been a part of my life growing up in the NW and they have
always been a great love of mine. We owned several breeds of
dogs over my
growing up years and I don't remember a time that a dog was not part of our family.
We loved our Boston Terriers and the Black Lab, Mitzi. In college I adopted a poodle from the pound and once I was married we had
Miniature Schnauzers.
Mylast Schnauzer had been gone for several years when I came home from work one day to find a small puppy sleeping on my couch. It was a Yorkie my husband, Steve has brought home as a Christmas gift. Scamp, our first Yorkie girl had the personality that we were both looking for in a companion. Very attentive and loving, she went everywhere with us and helped us fill the void that was left when our son grew up and moved out.
Scampwas daddy's little girl and no dog was loved more.
When she was taken by a coyote in our back yard it was
devastating
to think she was gone and in such a horrible way. We were heartbroken
and my husband was miserable so I decided that I was not going to wait
another several years to fill the void she left and found a breeder that
was recommended to me.
Wemet on a wet windy day as she was picking up her husband at the airport. My husband and I both fell instantly in love with the two little puppies she had brought and knew we would have to take them both.
Brittwas a few weeks younger than Kiwi and waiting for her to come home was like waiting for Christmas morning as a kid. Our breeder thought that Britt might be show dog quality and offered to teach me about showing dogs. I knew from that first time that this is what I have always wanted to do.
Brittwent on to finish her AKC Championship and her granddaughter is currently but a few points from hers. I have learned so much since those early days and now share what I have learned when ever I can. My goal is to breed healthy exceptionally adorable Yorkies to highest standard of the breed.. This is accomplished by careful breeding for characteristics and temperament in both the dam and sire.
